ABOUT THE COUNTRY

It is the oil country and officially the State of Kuwait (Arab: About this sound Davlat of al Kuwait), is the country in the Western Asia. Located on the northern suburb of East Arabia on a tip of the Persian Gulf, it borders on Iraq and Saudi Arabia. As of 2016 4,2 million People live in Kuwait; 1,3 million are Kuwaitis and 2,9 million - foreigners. 70% of the population fall to the share of foreigners.

HISTORY

In 1613 the city of Kuwait was founded in the modern city of Kuwait. In 1716 Bani Utut lodged in Kuwait which was populated at this time with several fishermen and generally functioned as the fishing village. In the eighteenth century Kuwait prospered and quickly became the main commercial center of transit of goods between India, Muscat, Baghdad and Arabia. To the middle of the 1700th years Kuwait already proved as the main trade way from the Persian Gulf to Aleppo.

CULTURE

The Kuwaiti national culture, in the form of theater, radio, music and a TV series, thrives and is even exported to neighboring states. In the Arab states of the Persian Gulf the culture of Kuwait is closest to the culture of Bahrain; it is visible in close connection between two states in theatrical performances and soap operas.

CLIMATE

Spring season in March warm with casual thunderstorms. Frequent winds from the northwest cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Southeast damp winds arise between July and October. Hot and dry southern winds prevail in the spring and at the beginning of summer. Shamal, northwest wind, the general in June and July, calls drama sandstorms. Summer in Kuwait - one of the hottest on Earth (for example, Ahwaz). The most high registered temperature was 54,4 °C (129,9 °F) that is the most high temperature registered in Asia. Kuwait worries cold winters, than other countries of SSZ, because of the location in a northern position near Iraq and Iran.

TOURISM

1,5 percent of GDP are the share of tourism. In 2016 the industry of tourism gained nearly 500 million dollars of income. The annual festival "Hala Febrayer" attracts a great number of tourists from neighboring countries of GCC and includes a set of actions, including musical concerts, parades and carnivals. The festival is monthly celebration of liberation of Kuwait and takes place from February 1 to February 28. On February 26 the Day of release is celebrated.

Now Amiri Divan develops the new Kuwaiti national cultural area (KNCD) which enter the Cultural center of the sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem, the Cultural center of the Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad, the Park of Al Shahid and the Al-Salam Palace. At capital expenditure more than 1 bln. dollars of the USA this project is one of the largest cultural investments in the world.
