Anthem: The Tanzanian national anthem is an installation for the new words of widely popular anthem of Mung'ou Ibariki of Africa (God Bless Africa).

MONETARY GROUP: The Tanzanian shilling (Sh) in 100 cents is paper currency. There are coins from 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents and 1, 5, 10 and 20 shillings and the banknote from 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1000 shillings. Sh1 = $0,00089 (or $1 = Sh1,123.2) as of 2005.

ARRANGEMENT, SIZE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Located in East Africa to the south from the equator, continental Tanzania is between the region of the Great Lakes - Victoria, Tanganyika and Malawi (Nias) and the Indian Ocean. It contains the total area of 945 087 sq.km (364 900 quarter. Miles), including 59 050 sq.km (22 799 quarter. Miles) internal waters. Rather, the area occupied with Tanzania is a little more, than is twice more than the State of California. It is limited on n to Uganda and Kenya, in the Indian Ocean, on Mozambique and Malawi, on the southwest coast of Zambia and also on Zaire, Burundi and Rwanda with a total length of border from 4 826 km (2,999 miles) from which 1424 km (885 miles) are the coastline. Tanzania applies for a part of Lake Malawi though its internationally recognized border - east coast.

The site of the Integrated Republic known as Zanzibar, includes the islands of Zanzibar and Pemba and all islands within 19 km (12 miles) from their coasts and also the desert island of Latem, in 58 km (36 miles) to the south from the island of Zanzibar. The island of Zanzibar is in 35 km (22 miles) from the coast, and the island of Pemba is approximately in 40 km from the city. The first has the area of 1 657 sq.km (640 quarter. Miles), and the last - 984 sq.km (380 quarter. Miles).
The capital of the city of Tanzania, Dodoma, is located on the coast of the Indian Ocean.

TOPOGRAPHY

Except for islands and a shore from 16 to 64 km wide (10-40 miles), Tanzania is at the height more than 200 m (660 feet). The plateau averaging 900-1800 m (3000-6000 feet) in height makes the most part of the country. Mountains are grouped in various sections. Pare's range is in the northeast, and Kipengena - in the southwest. Kilimanjaro (5 895 m / 19 340 feet), in the north, is the highest mountain in Africa.
