ARCHEOLOGY

The archeology indicates that on the Korean peninsula there were early people, since the period of the lower paleolith (2,6 Ma-300 of KA). History of Korea begins with Goyoseon's foundation in 2333 BC the legendary king Danggong. After association of three kingdoms of Korea under United Cilla in 668 in Korea subsequently the dynasty of Koryo (918-1392) and a dynasty Choson governed (1392-1910). It was annexed by Japan Empires in 1910. At the end of World War II Korea was divided into the Soviet and American zones of occupations. Separate elections were held in a zone of the USA in 1948 that led to creation of the Republic of Korea (RK), and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) was created in the Soviet zone. At that time in the United Nations the resolution that RK is the only lawful government in Korea was adopted.

HISTORY

History of Korea begins with the basis Choson (also known as Goyoseon or Old Choson to distinguish it from a dynasty of the 14th century) in 2333 BC Danggong, according to mythology of the base of Korea. Goyoseon extended, didn't control the northern peninsula of Korea and a part of Manchuria yet. Giya Choson presumably it was based in the 12th century B.C., but its existence and a role were disputable in present period. In 108 the Han dynasty won against Viman Choson and established four commands on the northern peninsula of the Korean peninsula. Three commands fell or receded on the West within several decades. As the commander Lelanga was destroyed and reconstructed at this time, the place gradually moved towards Lyadun. Thus, its force decreased, and it served only as the center of trade while it wasn't won by Koguryo in 313.

GEOGRAPHY

South Korea occupies the southern part of the Korean peninsula which stretches for 1100 km (680 miles) from the Asian continent. This mountain peninsula is surrounded with the Yellow Sea in the West and the Sea of Japan in the east. Its southernmost tip lies on the Korea Strait and the East China Sea.
The country, including all its islands, is between latitudes 33 ° and 39 °C. Sh.I longitudes 124 ° and 130 ° century. Its total area is 100 032 square kilometers (38 622,57 sq. miles).
South Korea can be divided into four general regions: east region of mountain ridges and narrow coastal plains; western region of wide coastal plains, river basins and hills; southwest region of mountains and valleys; and the southeast region where the wide river basin of Nakdong dominates.
