ARRANGEMENT, SIZE AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Ukraine, the second-large country in Europe, is located in Eastern Europe bordering on the Black Sea between Poland and Russia. Rather, Ukraine is a little less than State of Texas with a total area of 603 700 sq.km (233 090 quarter. Miles). Ukraine divides borders with Belarus on Russia, Russia on д, to the Black Sea in the south, Romania, Moldova, Hungary and Slovakia on w and Poland into nw. The location of Ukraine has a strategic importance at the intersection between Europe and Asia. Its border makes sushi 4 663 km (2,897 miles), and its coastline makes 2,782 km (1729 miles). The capital of Ukraine, Kiev, is located in a northern central part of the country.

TOPOGRAPHY

The relief of Ukraine consists generally of fertile plains (steppes) and the plateau. The correct (Carpathians) mountains meet only in the West and on the Crimean peninsula in the extreme South. The Dnieper height passes through the central region of the country. The Donetsk and Azov heights are located along eastern frontier.

The coastal area of the Black Sea is a low-lying area. The gulf Karkint space almost separates the Crimean peninsula from the continent. The Kerch Strait connects the Black Sea with the Sea of Azov located between Ukraine and Russia of 37599 sq.km (14 517 quarter. Miles). The area of swamps, Polesia, is located near northwest border.

The most important river in Ukraine - Dnieper (Dnieper), the third longest river in Europe. It is the main source of hydropower. Other large rivers include Danube, Western Boom, the Yew, Pripyat and Desna. Through the whole country there are more than 20 000 small lakes, but the biggest lakes artificial, created dams along Dnieper.

CLIMATE

Climate subtropical on the Crimean peninsula. Rainfall is disproportionately distributed, the highest in the West and the North, least in the east and the southeast. Winters vary from cool across the Black Sea to colder internal. The summer flows mostly the countries, except for the South where it becomes hot.
Other part of climate of the country moderate. Average temperature in July is about 10 °C (66 °F). However in January average temperature falls up to -6 °C (21 °F). The average amount of precipitation makes 50 cm (20 inches) a year, with variations in different regions.
