ECONOMY
Despite the beginning of oil production in 2003, 40% of the population of Chad live below the poverty line. The population will quickly continue to grow because of very high coefficient of birth rate and a big youth cohort - more than 65% of the population are younger than 25 years though mortality is high, and the expected life expectancy low. Fumes have the third largest level of maternal mortality in the world. Poverty, anemia, rural housing, high birth rate, bad education and lack of access to planning of family and obstetric care are among major factors of risk. The greatest impact is exerted by the poor, uneducated teenagers living in rural areas. For improvement of reproductive health of women and decrease in birth rate Chad will need to increase education level of women, participation in work and also knowledge and access to planning of family. Only about a quarter of women are competent, less than 5% use contraceptives, and more than 40% are exposed to sexual reduction.
DEMOGRAPHY
As of October, 2017 more than 320 000 refugees from Sudan and more than 75 000 of the Central African Republic force out limited resources of Chad and create tension in host communities. Thousands of new refugees ran to Chad in 2013 to avoid aggravation of violence in the Darfur district of Sudan. Large groups of refugees don't decide to return to the native lands because of the proceeding instability.
