The people's republic Benin (before Dahomey) is located in the Western Africa on the northern coast of the Gulf of Guinea and has the area of 112 620 sq.km (43 483 quarter. The northern rivers of Benin, penetrate Mekra, Alibori and Sot who are inflows of Niger, and Pandzhari, inflow of Volta and collapse rocks.
To the north from a tight belt of coastal sand the region of lateritny clay, the main area of the palm tree with oil crossed by a marshy depression between Allada and Abomey which stretches for the East to Nigerian border belongs. To the north from Hills Dassa height fluctuates from 60 to 150 m (200-500 feet), Chaine de L'Atakoria broken only by mountains.
